First Lady Jody Davis
First Lady Mrs. Jody F. Collins-Davis – The word of God makes many references to ordinary women who have been instrumental in spreading the Love of Christ, whether Rahab who protected spies sent from the Israelite camp in search of the Promised Land, Ester who stood courageously before the King on behalf of her people, or the widow at Zarephath who faithfully gave all she had to the prophet Elijah, women are a part of God’s holy and divine plan.
Just like the afore mentioned women First Lady of Munger Avenue Baptist Church, Sister Jody Davis is also a part of God’s divine plan and has graciously accepted His will for her life to spread His Love.
Jody Davis is committed to spreading the Love of Christ as her beautiful, refreshing spirit, compassion for people and willingness to serve are all exemplary of His Love. This same love has motivated her to dutifully serve the Lord wherever He may lead.
First Lady Jody Davis began her love affair with the Lord at an early age serving at Lee Chapel Methodist Church in Bryan, Texas. At her home church she served in the mission, choir, Sunday School and the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
Her calling was elevated as a young adult when the Lord called her husband, Reverend, Wade Charles Davis, to be his servant as a minister. Their walk led them to Zion Baptist church under the leadership of the late Dr. Theodore Liggins. Zion was blessed with Sister Davis’ unwavering faith as she served First Lady, the late Louise Liggins, exhibited patience and love while presenting Christian ideals and values on the Children’s Church committee, and expounded upon God’s as a teacher in the Baptist Training Union, and Junior Missionary Department.
The Lord continued to bless Reverend and Sister Davis by allowing them to expand their ministry as Pastor and First Lady of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado. Sister Davis continued to sow good seeds and her submittal to God’s will allowed Him to use her in leadership, where she headed the Vacation Bible School Program and sang in with the Adult Choir.
Sister Jody Davis is presently the humble First Lady of Munger Avenue Baptist Church where she has served along with her husband as a gem for the past eleven years. First Lady Davis sees to the needs of members by sharing her wisdom with countless women who confide in her, sharing God’s word with Women’s Bible Class # 1 as their teacher, and demonstrating her compassionate spirit by tending to the clothing closet within the Family Life Center.
Sister Davis’ commitment to service allowed her to complete 34 years of continued service with the Department of Defense and Homeland Security, from which she retired in 2013.
First Lady Sister Jody Davis is a woman of uncompromising character, physical and spiritual beauty, virtue, strength and integrity. She believes these characteristics are only enhanced by her family and friends, as she is a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Pastor. W. C. Davis, phenomenal mother of three children, Carmisha, Angela and Wondame, and perfect grandmother of eight grandchildren, Braylan, Neysiah, Jayla, Iilasanne, Wondame Jr., Solomon and twins, Sasha and Emma.
Sister Davis attributes any successes in life to her strong faith in Jesus Christ and His love for her. Knowing that she can do all things through Christ encourages her to continue spreading His Love.
